construction on our Kitchens

Traditional Cabinet Makers and Joinery

We are traditional cabinet makers based in Oxfordshire that make high quality kitchens. We don’t use chipboard! We want your kitchen to last a life time, we guarantee them for 20 years and we make them using traditional cabinet making methods using the best materials for the job.

How do we ensure our cabinets stand the test of time…

We make hardwood ply cabinets and we have a no chipboard policy. To give them added strength and durability, we first glue and screw your cabinets together, rather than dowel and cams, (a sort of nut and bolt, that a lot of mass produced cabinets use) to ensure it holds and does not loosen over time.

For the frames, doors and skirting we use a hardwood because its density makes it strong and more durable. We generally use lime and tulip wood as it gives a very good paint finish, and is very stable once it has been cut and fixed.

All doors for your kitchen are fitted with a traditional butt hinge, just like your front door. It is screwed into the frame and door (both made of hardwood) creating a very strong hinge mechanism. This means your door will never drop or need adjusting once fitted. Once the cabinets are constructed we paint them in our workshop. The paint used is a durable water based eggshell paint, this gives your cabinet a beautiful, smooth finish.

Your kitchen drawers are solid oak drawer boxes with dovetail joints. We use soft close drawer runners so that there is no slamming, protecting your sanity, crockery and kitchen. Both the drawer boxes and runners are guaranteed for life.

If you have ever had a chipboard kitchen you will understand the quality of not only the product, but the fittings as well. We want your kitchen to last a life time, and that is why we guarantee them for 20 years.  We use traditional cabinet making methods and the best materials for the job.

These are some of the areas in Oxfordshire, UK we serve but please get in touch if you think we can be of assistance with your project.
